Our Troop

 

Meetings:
The Troop is sponsored by and meets every Monday in the Congregational Church in Lynnfield Center from 7 to 8:30 PM.  There are no meetings when there is no school (vacation, snow cancellation, summer break)

 

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

Overall:
Troop 48 is comprised or approximately 30 boys divided into three patrols.  The troop is active with camping trips each month covering a range of activities from backpacking to white water rafting.  The Troop is scout run with the monthly activities selected by the patrol leaders.

Troop Committee

Expected Dress:
Scouts should attend all meetings in their Class A uniforms.  Class A uniforms consist of a scout shirt with appropriate patches, neckerchief, and Scout pants. 

 

Registration:
Scout Registration begins in September of each year.  The registration fee is $50.  Scouts of eligible age are encouraged to join throughout the year.

 

Equipment:
A list of all equipment is in the Boy Scout Handbook.  New scouts should have the following equipment;
   -Backpack with frame
   -O degree sleeping bag
   -Flashlight
   -Extra clothing, particularly wool or synthetic (cotton is cold when wet)
   -Personal hygiene kit
   -Windbreaker
   -Wool hat
   -Personal eating equipment (mess kit with utensils)
   -Insect repellent
   -Hat
   -Rain gear (poncho or rain jacket)
